Weight Loss/Fitness: Any advice for my insatiable appetite?

You know what, I'm stuck. I have my moments when I get a burst of inspiration and head for the gym. Most days, I don't. Though I think that I have pretty good health and I'm roughly satisfied with my body size, I'm severely out of shape AND there are some physical flaws about myself that I know can be improved with eating right and doing the right exercises.

Here is my problem...

I love to eat. No, I really love to eat. Food is SO good. I love steak, fish, pasta, salads, hearty sandwiches, cake, pie, fruit, pizza, noodles, and all of the above. I just simply, love to eat. On some days, I'm convinced that my appetite gets out of control. This increases ESPECIALLY when I try to cut back on the excessive calories and foods that don't do my body any justice. I did some online research on what foods to eat to curb my appetite so that I can minimize my cravings. I've read that eating a lot of protein and/or fiber does the trick. Admittedly, it does work but for me, I don't think it works enough. Either that, or I'm just excessively greedy ALL THE TIME. I've also tried eating small snacks throughout the day; healthy snacks at that: yogurt, cheese, fruit, wheat crackers, pickles, sliced tomato, etc. But every time I do this, I want to eat more than what I should! When I eat, I like to feel full or satisfied in the end. It's annoying too, because I also want to eat healthy. I believe that if I could conquer this little food issue, I could be more motivated to stay on the right track to becoming more healthy and fit.

Any advice???

  2. Hmmm. Thanks! I've never heard of it, but I guess it's a relatively new thing...i think. But great! I've been looking for something to help me out with my little issue. It's hard for me to stay motivated when I'm always addicted to all kinds of food that packs excessive amounts of calories that I can never burn off in a day...unless I spend all day at the gym. But I'll definitely google it! Thanks :)
